TROY-BILT MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER LOCATIONS
The product's model number is essential to finding correct MTD genuine factory replacement part numbers for your Yard Machines, Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Remington, Yard-Man, White Outdoor and MTD Gold outdoor power equipment.
The Model number is eleven characters long and is printed on the left side of the Product Identification Label. Characters can include numbers, letters or hyphens The ID tag lists the model number and serial number of your Troy-Bilt product. The tag is approximately 2" x 3" inches in size.
Locations may vary depending on the brand of MTD equipment you own.
Troy-Bilt Serial Number Breakdown
Finding the year of your unit is very simple.
Using the 5th number in the serial number can tell us the year.

Walk Behind Mowers
The model and serial number ID tag is located on the:
1. Back of the deck
2. Rear door
3. Rear left side
Model number will begin with 11 or 12.
Riding Mowers
The model and serial number ID tag is located on the underside of the seat pan.
Model number will begin with 13, 14 or 17.
Garden Tillers
The model and serial number ID tag is located on the surface of the tine housing.
Model number will begin with 21.
Single-Stage Snow Blowers
The model and serial number ID tag is located on the:
- Right side of the frame.
- Next to the key switch and primer.
Model number will begin with 31.
Two- and Three-Stage Snow Blowers
The model and serial number ID tag is located on the rear of the frame cover, between the wheels.
Model number will begin with 31.
